Altitude simulation chamber
Reliable pressure testing under realistic altitude conditions
When transporting goods at high altitudes, particularly in aviation or in mountainous regions, low air pressure can become a critical factor. Our altitude simulation chambers create controlled environments with reduced air pressure—for realistic tests to ensure the functionality, safety, and approval of your products. Whether aircraft electronics, packaged goods, sensor technology, or assemblies: with WKM, you are on the safe side.
Why altitude simulation?
Components, devices, or packaging intended for use or transport at high altitudes must be tested under low-pressure conditions. Strict testing standards apply, particularly in aerospace, automotive, defence, and electronics development. Our chambers enable tests with precisely adjustable pressure profiles—from simulated climbs to altitudes above 20,000 m.
As altitude increases, air pressure decreases (reference: 1013 hPa), which can lead to expansion, leaks, outgassing, or electrical malfunctions, among other things. Our altitude simulation systems enable targeted simulation of these effects – in accordance with standards and in a practical manner.

Our altitude simulation chambers can be individually configured to ensure realistic test conditions under negative pressure and variable temperatures:
- Mobile design: Enables flexible installation and easy positioning of the chamber in the laboratory or test field.
- Door window: Provides a clear view of the test chamber and allows safe visual inspection during ongoing tests.
- Pipe feed-throughs: Used to insert sensors, cables, or test cables into the test chamber.
- Temperature control of the chamber housing: For even temperature distribution throughout the entire test chamber.
- Temperature measurement on the test specimen: Records the actual temperature directly on the test specimen for precise process monitoring and documentation.
- Interfaces for external sensors: Enable standard-compliant recording and monitoring of all relevant test parameters.
- Powerful vacuum pump: Ensures fast and stable generation of the test pressure for reliable and reproducible test results.
