Testing products, controlling odors
The nose decides and has a say: Emission tests are among the most important material tests when it comes to the quality, safety, and acceptance of products. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odorous substances are reliably detected in an emission test chamber under defined temperature and climate conditions. On this basis, you can minimize or eliminate unwanted emissions and optimize your products.
Flexible solutions – from laboratory scale to 1 m² test chambers
- Emission tests at room temperature
For small sample sizes, an emission test chamber with a test chamber volume of 250 l, such as the “emission-free” EK 250B test chamber, is suitable. It already complies with important standards such as ISO 16000-9 and EN 16516.
- Emission tests at room temperatures between +5 °C and +130 °C
If higher test temperatures are required, the EK 250A test chamber offers a reliable entry-level model. It can be used to perform tests in accordance with PV 3942, PN 780, and ISO 12219-4, among others.
- Large-volume tests
If no air-conditioned installation room is available or a usable space of 250 l is not sufficient, the EK 1000 with 1,000 l test space is the right choice. It impresses with its high level of serviceability and user-friendliness and makes it easier to comply with extensive test standards.
In any case, we can provide you with exactly the right emission test chamber for your tests – in accordance with requirements and standards.
Overview of relevant testing standards
Our emission test chambers meet all common requirements for the automotive, aerospace, electronics, and other industries:
- ISO 12219-4 – Determination of volatile organic emissions from vehicle interior components
- VDA 276 – Emission testing with a 1 m² test chamber for automotive components
- GS-97014-3 (BMW method) – Emissions from components, semi-finished products, and materials
- PN 780 (Porsche method) – Interior emission behaviour
- VCS 1027, 2769 (Volvo method) – Emission testing for vehicle interior components/systems
- PV 3942 (Volkswagen method) – Determination of organic emissions from components for the automotive interior
